Ingrown Toenail Correction
Can You Describe The Procedure?

The procedure is quite simple and only takes 15-30 minutes.  There are typically two ways to correct an ingrown toenail.  The right way and the wrong way.  Just Kidding!  There really are 2 ways.  There is a "simple" correction that just removes the part of the nail that is growing into the skin.  This will allow the infection to clear, but there is still the possibility that after the toe heals, a few months down the road the nail could once again grow into the skin and become reinfected.  Procedure #2 is the "permanent" way to correct an ingrown nail that has a 98% chance of never coming back.  This is the most desirable way to correct the infection.  This is also my preferred way to correct an ingrown nail in the right setting.  And let me remind you that we are the only Sacramento area podiatrist office (that we are aware of) that will GUARANTEE  the results of this permanent correction.  In other words, if for some reason you are one of 2% that have the ingrown come back, then I will correct the problem no charge.  Yes, I have had some come back.

There are a few situations where a permanent correction is not the right way to treat  the toe on the first visit.  If the infection is too bad then it may become necessary to remove the ingrown part of the toenail and clear up the infection before proceeding to the permanent correction.   No matter what technique is performed they are usually performed under a simple local anesthesia.

Dr. David Kahan, Sacramento Podiatrist

For over 20 years I have been helping Sacramento  residents cure their ingrown nail woes.  There are potentially many ways to "fix" an ingrown toenail, but there is ONLY one Sacramento Podiatrist that offers a GUARANTEE

Is There Any Down Time?

The typical scenario is after 24 hours you can return to your regular activities.  There are, of course, extenuating circumstances, when more recovery time is required, but this is the exception, rather than the rule.  Most people are able to run, play soccer, ski, whatever you couldn't do before, one or two days later.  The pain that used to be is just an annoyance after the simple 30 minute office procedure.  Walk in and walk out!

Testimonials

The BEST Dr. visit I have EVER experienced. ALL doctors should be like Dr. Kahan. I loved the lay back feeling he gave us and his "bedside manner" was the BEST ever. WOW. Just wish he was a Family Practice Dr.! You could not ask for a more friendly Dr. Keep up the AWESOME work. Thanks so much!

Dr. Kahan is awesome (even though he's a Dodgers fan)!!! Very knowledgable, excellent bed side manner, hilarious, and he listens to your needs/complaints. If you have a foot problem see Dr. Kahan!! You won't regret it!  Ken S.

AAHHHH! Thats the sound of relief. Its been about 3 weeks since my ingrown toenail surgery and my toe is healing and looks great.  The Dr assured me i wouldn't feel a thing and i would be able to walk out of there when he was done. Sure enough, everything was fine and after a couple days it had already started to heal and I was pain free. THANK YOU!  Steve R.
